Lollapalooza Expands To Israel In 2013

A third international location and corresponding dates have been announced for Lollapalooza Israel. The growing international event has locked in its newest location in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park for August 20-22, 2013. The highly successful festival recently expanded to Chlie in 2011 and Brazil earlier this year. “Israel is an incredibly sophisticated music market,” stated Marc Geiger of WME Entertainment, a partner of Lollapalooza, LLC. “Consumers have a voracious appetite for entertainment, yet there has never been a major music festival. To me, this combination screams Lollapalooza.”

Lollapalooza Israel will be the first-ever large-scale international music festival in the country. Yarkon Park is the largest and most popular park in Israel, located very close in proximity to Tel Aviv and stretches for hundreds of acres along the Yarkon River. Founder Perry Farrell stated, “Lollapalooza began as music’s premier traveling festival. As a musician, I really missed the days when we were on the move. In the last few years we’ve widened our scope, presenting Lolla to the ‘festival generation’ around the world. Next stop- Tel Aviv.”
