San Antonio band, Hacienda, is quite the family affair. Hacienda was formed in 2006 by cousins Abraham Villanueva (piano/vocals) and Dante Schwebel (guitar/vocals) and Villanueva’s brothers Jaime (drums/vocals) and Rene Villanueva (bass/vocals). In 2005, their paths crossed with Dan Auerbach when the Black Keys were playing a club show in San Antonio and was given their demo. It wasn’t long until Hacienda was opening for The Black Keys and access to Auerbach’s ears in helping them record and produce their debut album at his studio in Akron, Ohio.
Shakedown is the band’s current album, and the track, “Savage” is ON-RADAR here at B-Sides.
