Foo Fighters may be on hiatus but Dave Grohl is keeping busy, as his collaboration with Corey Taylor of Slipknot has been released. The track, titled, “From Can To Can’t,” also features Scott Reeder of Kyuss and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.
Grohl has been working on a documentary about the legendary Sound City studios. The LA studio is renowned for the classics which have been recorded there from After The Gold Rush by Neil Young, to Nevermind by Nirvana and Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. The world premiere of the film took place Friday night at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah and will feature interviews with numerous artists such as, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Josh Homme and Rick Springfield.
The soundtrack to the movie contains a variety of artists including, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel and Chris Shiflett of Foo Fighters, Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine, RIck Nielsen, Alain Johannes, Chris Goss and more. Grohl assembled the artists together to form Sound City Players for the occasion and the band will perform at the film’s premiere at Sundance Film Festival on January 18 as well as at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on January 31.
