Destroid Announce May Album Release, Tour Dates

The collaboration of Excision, Canadian bass artist Downlink and drummer KJ Sawka from electronic rock band Pendulum have teamed up to form Destroid and have announced the release of their debut full-length album, Destroid—The Invasion, that will be released on May 7, 2013. The album features numerous electronic producers and collaborators, including Bassnectar, U.K.-based electro/bass artist Far Too Loud, U.S. bass artist Space Laces, Japanese “bass Godzilla” and Rottun Recordings artist Ajapai and dubstep vocalist Messinian.

In support of the new album, Destroid have confirmed a select run of headlining and music festival performances as a full live band including their debut live show May 31 at The Warfield in San Francisco and appearances at the Moonrise Festival June 8 in Baltimore, the Orion Music + More Festival June 9 in Detroit and a featured performance at this year’s Camp Bisco. The live setup is said to feature Excision and Downlink performing with two custom MIDI guitars and KJ Sawka performing on a fully custom digital drum kit.

“I’ve spent over three years getting this new Destroid project ready and I really believe that the way we are putting it together sets down a new path for electronic music performance,” says Destroid founder Excision.
