FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Riot Fest Denver

Next weekend the third installment of Riot Fest hits the Mile High city with two fulls days of some of the best acts music has to offer. We will be there to cover the madness but with such a jam-packed schedule, who are the must-see bands of the festival? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here is B-Sides “Must-See” list for the 2013 Denver Edition of Riot Fest.

The Classics: The Replacements and Iggy and the Stooges

The Replacements have already rocked the Toronto and Chicago Stage at Riot Fest and now they are bringing their comeback venture to Denver. Don’t miss out on the chance to absorb some rock-n-roll history! Also catch Iggy and the Stooges because their set will definitely put the “Riot” in Riot Fest.

The Staples: AFI, Brand New

Over the past few years, these two bands have kept us guessing with “Will they or won’t they?” as far as new tunes. But thank the rock gods that AFI has just dropped a couple new singles and Brand New reportedly has new tunes in the works – but in the meantime, sing along to your old favorites as these two rock-scene staples take the stage in Denver on Saturday, September 21st.

The Uber-cool: Touche Amore, Lydia and Bosnian Rainbows

If you are too cool for those bands, check out Touche Amore, Lydia and Bosnian Rainbows. Post-hardcore band Touche Amore drops their new album on September 24th so you definitely want to check out their set to hear the new material. Lydia always put on a good show, though their music is bit slower so if you are looking for a dance party, this may not be your set. Bosnian Rainbows is your new favorite band and you may not even know it yet. Former The Mars Volta members Deantoni Parks and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez along with new band members make up new act Bosnian Rainbows, combining their alternative edge with irresistible electronic elements.

Party time: Breathe Carolina and AWOLNATION

If you are looking for a dance party then look no further than Breathe Carolina and AWOLNATION. Colorado boys Breathe Carolina always bring out a good crowd for their set and never fail to deliver a good time. AWOLNATION has consistently been hailed as one of the best live acts of the last year or so, so definitely don’t miss his show.
