The Killers to Release “Direct Hits”

It’s sometimes hard to believe The Killers have been around long enough to release a greatest hits album but looking back on their past success, it’s no surprise. With their first hit single “Mr. Brightside” making a warmed welcome debut, from the start the band has created something special, which will all be encaptured in their newest “Direct Hits” along with the two new tracks, “Shot at the Night” and “Just Another Girl”. But will the magic last?

Consisting of members singer-keyboardist Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr., The Killers formed in Las Vegas in 2002. After playing shows in Vegas for a while the band finally got their first record deal with Island Records. Soon after, their debut album “Hot Fuss” was born, launching their career as the newest hot rock band, becoming leaders for young adult anthems. The Killers went on to make three more albums, sticking with their rock style, but not without a few pauses.

Already the band has confirmed that they will be taking an “extended break” after the release of “Direct Hits”, leaving many people to wonder if they will ever get back together. This hasn’t been the first time the band has taken a break, from 2010 to 2011 the band separated, each member pursuing solo careers until ultimately getting back together again. And with the release of a greatest hits album, the past has shown a lot of bands take a bow after never to return.

So to prepare ourselves for this awesome “Direct Hits” album, and the possibility that we may never hear more, we have listed five of the Killers greatest.
