Manchester Englands famous rock heroes Oasis, and Seattle Washington’s grunge band Soundgarden both have albums with 20th anniversaries coming up and to celebrate they are reissuing the albums with extra special content. Oasis’s Definitely Maybe was a turning point in the lives of this young band. Released in 1994, this debut album for the band shot straight to number one in the UK charts, becoming the fastest selling album during it’s time, in the UK. The album gave us the hits “Supersonic”, “Live Forever”, and “Shakermaker”. The new reissue of the album will be a 3 disc set containing rare recordings and never before heard acoustic tracks such as “Live Forever” and Shakermaker”. The album is set to be released on May 19th.
While Superunknown wasn’t the first album by Soundgarden, this record became one of their most successful. The album which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart after being released in 1994, also produced grammy award winning hits “Black Hole Sun” and “Spoonman” pushing the bands popularity into overdrive. The album became certified 5x platinum in the United States and has been featured in both Rolling Stone and Spin magazine under their top lists. The reissue of this album will be a special two-disc set with 16 demos, rehearsals, and b-sides, with 10 of them being never previously released. You can find this album for sale on June 3rd.
