VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Vinyl Theatre Talk Origins, Rap Songs, The Killers

vinyl theatreVinyl Theatre initially formed in high school when founding members Keegan Calmes and keyboardist Chris Senner were competing at a cross-country meet. Their common interests in music led the pair to collaborate on songwriting and eventually filled out the band with other longtime friends, Josh Pothier on bass and Nick Cesarz on drums. In a now-common story, the band utilized social media and online music site, SoundCloud to release their independent EP, which helped them form a solid fanbase and the attention of music label, Fueled By Ramen. Now with their debut album, “Electrogram”, having been released, the 4-piece are currently on the road with Smallpools and Grizfolk.

B-Sides On-Air caught up with Vinyl Theatre during their tour stop in San Francisco to talk about their background, the bond between Calmes and Senner from their running days to their love of The Killers and more.
