Yukon Blonde release their third full-length album, On Blonde, this past June and are currently on tour in support of the album. Prior to the release, the band took a couple of years off embarking on other projects, including the solo project by lead singer, Jeff Innes. The album shows the band experimenting with psychedelic, digital and synthetic sounds yet retains their trademark hard-hitting choruses, highlighted by shimmering pop production. “It’s a more dynamic and more visceral album than our previous records,” explains Innes. “We were more ambitious writing On Blonde so it’s sort of ironic that in experimenting we created a more accessible record than ever before.”
Yukon Blonde performed the track, “I Wanna Be Your Man” exclusively for B-Sides On-Air before performing at Brick & Mortar in San Francisco. Afterwards, the band spoke with host, Pete Mar, about their latest album, On Blonde and more.
