VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Barns Courtney Performs “Fire”, Talks Opening For The Who, Blur

barns-courtneyWith his band Dive Bella Dive signed to Island Records a few years out of high school, UK artist Barns Courtney was on the up-swing and ready for the exciting future ahead. Changes occurred fast, however, as their album got shelved and the band was left to re-strategize. The band renamed themselves The Dive after their drummer left but was short-lived. Courtney took a hiatus from music and picked up a job working at a computer software store in London but slowly got back to writing music again stating, ”I was going to quit so many times, but because music was just so hard wired into me I kept going with it.” Things turned for the better with the release of “Glitter and Gold” that garnered European radio play and even more fortuitous was the release of “Fire”. The track “Fire” was selected to play in the Bradley Cooper movie, Burnt. Courtney is the midst of a U.S. tour and will release his debut album as a solo artist early 2017.

Barns Courtney performed “Fire” exclusively for B-Sides On-Air and spoke with host Pete Mar about the track, plans for the album, opening for established artists like The Who and Blur and more.
