VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Beaty Heart Talk ‘Till the Tomb’, Songwriting Growth

beaty-heartThe trio of Beaty Heart formed in 2010 while attending Goldsmiths College in London and consists of percussionists/multi-instrumentalists Josh Mitchell (vocals, guitars, electronics), Charlie Rotberg (drums, electronics), and James Moruzzi (drums, vocals, electronics).  Their debut in 2013, Mixed Blessings, was written mostly during jam sessions and showcased the band’s penchant for catchy beats mixed with tropical sounds and upbeat synths.  Their followup, Till The Tomb was released during the summer of 2016 to critical acclaim, showcasing a growth in the trio’s songwriting and yielded the addictive track, “Raw Gold”.  Mitchell stated, “We tried to cut a lot of the faff out of our sound, the sounds are much more staccato and up in your face on the new thing.”

Beaty Heart spoke with B-Sides On-Air host, Pete Mar, during their San Francisco tour stop to talk about their latest album, writing “Raw Gold” and more.  Check out the interview:
