VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Ben Thatcher of Royal Blood at Outside Lands 2017

Royal Blood has been one of the fastest growing bands in the international music scene today. Formed just four short years ago in 2013, the hard-rocking duo of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher have launched from nothing into playing to sold out shows at large venues and prime scheduling to huge audiences at major festivals from Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Glastonbury. Kerr and Thatcher had known each other for years, but one day decided to start a band together and won over members of Arctic Monkeys before their first single was even released! In 2014, Royal Blood, the band’s debut album was released before the band went on tour with the Foo Fighters. With endorsements from music veterans from Lars Ulrich of Metallica (who joined them on-stage during one of their early San Francisco shows), Queens of the Stone Age and others, they show no sign in stopping, having released their sophomore album How Did We Get So Dark? in June of 2017.

Their musical endorsements continue to roll in, with Ben recently telling B-Sides at Outside Lands 2017 about how Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame asked him out to lunch to celebrate his birthday!
