VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Mondo Cozmo at Outside Lands 2017

It’s been a banner year for Joshua Ostrander, aka Mondo Cozmo. After spending the majority of 19 years just on the cusp of recognition, radio play and attaining a consistent sound, the track “Shine” catapulted Mondo Cozmo to the forefront in early 2017. Mondo Cozmo was Ostrander’s new project, formed almost immediately after his previous band Eastern Conference Champions ended. “Shine” was released with almost immediate radio airplay and Mondo Cozmo was suddenly in the throws of getting booked for the 2017 festival circuit. His debut album, Plastic Soul, which features “Shine” was released on the same day Mondo Cozmo was scheduled to play Lolllapalooza and the recent single “Automatic,” has also been a fan favorite and favorite of fellow musicians as well. In fact, Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons crashed his stage in Las Vegas as the two proceeded to perform a cover of “Bittersweet Symphony” together.

B-Sides met up with Mondo Cozmo at Outside Lands 2017 to talk about the experience of going from zero-to-sixty with the recognition, constant touring and more.
