VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Whiskey Shivers Talk ‘Pitch Perfect 3’, Perform “Reckless”

Whiskey Shivers have made a name for themselves from their energetic and engaging live shows featuring their genre-pushing “trashgrass” sound. Based in Austin, TX,  their punk-influenced style stands out from the traditional bluegrass world, as evidenced in their latest and fifth album, Some Part of Something. The five-piece recently made their major film debut last year, with the national release of Pitch Perfect 3, which features returning cast members Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Hailee Steinfeld. The band appear as “Saddle Up” – a country inspired band who compete against the Bellas on a USO Tour. “Whiskey Shivers isn’t just the five of us on stage, it’s everybody in the room,” frontman and fiddle-player Bobby Fitzgerald says. “We try to bring everybody into the moment and get them to realize there’s no wall between us and the crowd.”

Whiskey Shivers recently performed “Reckless” for B-Sides at the Independent Brewing Company in Oakland, CA and took a moment to talk about their appearance in Pitch Perfect 3 and more.
