VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Martin Johnson Talks The Night Game

The Night Game is the new solo project of Martin Johnson, from Boys Like Girls. While on a three-year hiatus to regroup and chart his next moves, the New England native continued to co-write with numerous artists, including the recent work on the title track of the latest album by blink-182, “California”. Martin told Billboard magazine, “I had to start almost completely from scratch and write a couple of very left-of-center, sad songs to help me discover what I wanted to say.” Finding the sound that inspired him to create what would eventually be the band’s debut album(slated to be released mid-2018), The Night Game caught the ear of John Mayer, who invited the band to open for him during his tour last year. The band is in the midst of their first North American tour, have played Innings Festival in Arizona and scheduled to perform at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Music Festival, BottleRock in Napa, CA and Firefly Music Festival.

During the band’s tour stop in San Francisco, Martin Johnson talks about his new band, The Night Game, his career co-writing songs and more. Check out the interview:
