VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Kelly Zutrau of Wet Talks ‘Still Run’, Turning 30

Wet will release their highly anticipated sophomore album Still Run on July 13, 2018 via Columbia Records. Ahead of the release, the band has released a few tracks including, “There’s a Reason”, “Softens”, “Lately” and “You’re Not Wrong”. In between albums, the trio parted ways with original member, Marty Sulkow as remaining members lead singer/songwriter Kelly Zutrau and multi-instrumentalist Joe Valle decided to move forward as a duo. Taking time away during the songwriting and recording process, both Zutrau and Valle would work on other projects that included work with Clams Casino with guest vocals by Zutrau. Ahead of the release, Zutrau spoke about some of the tracks including, “There’s A Reason”, which she says, “the album, and this track in particular, are about leaving dysfunctional relationships even when it is easier to stay. It’s also a call to myself to keep doing, running, making things in an overwhelming world. To not get stuck in comfortable situations if they’re not helping you to grow and live. It’s a documentation of my attempt to get control of my life, my relationships and my art and the losses I experienced in that process.” The album is the follow-up to their successful debut, Don’t You released in 2015.

B-Sides met up with Kelly Zutrau of Wet prior to their San Francisco show and spoke about the album material, the band’s lineup changes, her anxieties of performing on stage and more. Check out the interview:
