VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Hudson Taylor: “We’re Still Buskers”, Talk New Music

Irish duo, Hudson Taylor, released their latest album Bear Creek to Dame Street earlier this year to much anticipation. A mix of new studio and live recordings, the brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson Taylor put together a collection of songs to satiate their fanbase while they finalize their next full-length album. The siblings honed their craft busking on the streets of their hometown of Dublin as well as cities all over Europe. Their hard work would eventually pay off, as their debut album, Playing to Strangers, spawned multiple singles including, “Chasing Rubies,” “Battles” and “Weapons”. The band still considers themselves buskers trying to peak the interest of fans and their experience would be put to the test as they would eventually play to large audiences throughout their native Ireland, the UK and Europe, not to mention high-profile spots at the UK festivals Leeds/Reading, Latitude and Isle Of Wight. Hudson Taylor played huge gigs in Dublin in with The Script and Kodaline and eventually opened for Hozier on select dates in late 2018.

B-Sides met up with Hudson Taylor in Oakland, CA to talk about their approach to performing live, including their “go-to” songs when busking that would garner more attention and more. Check out the interview:
