VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Potty Mouth Talk ‘Snafu’, L.A. Lifestyle, Perform “I Wanna”

Rock trio, Potty Mouth released their long-awaited sophomore LP SNAFU in March to an eagerly awaiting audience and positive reviews. Six years after the release of the band’s acclaimed 2013 debut album Hell Bent, SNAFU was inspired by the band standing firm in not comprising to the traditional standards of the music industry. “Our approach made things take longer, but it gave us more creative freedom,” said bassist Ally Einbinder. “To have that flexibility was so helpful, and the amount we grew and learned during the making of this record is the product of a lot of patience and finding the right situation for ourselves. As artists trying to maintain control over this path we’ve taken together, the three of us have stuck it out for eight years now, and we’re here for each other.” After the success of their debut, the classic story of business executives giving input on the music’s creative direction and contingencies took shape with Potty Mouth. Released on Get Better Records, a DIY label run by Einbinder and her partner Alex Licktenhour, SNAFU, is highlighted by tracks like “Fencewalker,” which singer/songwriter Abby Weems co-wrote with The Go-Go’s Gina Schock, “Do It Again” and the current single, “Liar”. A limited-edition blue vinyl of the album is also available on the band’s Bandcamp (UK/EU) and the Potty Mouth webstore (US) with a bonus comic book, titled ‘Potty Mouth: Situation Normal All Fucked Up’ that was written and illustrated by Potty Mouth frontwoman Abby Weems that explains the band’s trials and tribulations in getting the album released.
