VIDEO: INTERVIEW – SG Lewis at SnowGlobe 2019: Talks Elton John, Disco Influence

SG Lewis has worked hard to not only become known as a songwriter and DJ but also a well-respected producer amongst his peers. The British artist released a three-part concept album, ‘Dusk, Dark, Dawn’ over the past year and a half that Lewis describes as a chronicle of the trajectory of a night out through its different moods and genres and serves as a tribute to club and youth culture. Lewis first became interested in music during his teens and played in several bands before he started experimenting with remixing tracks. Influenced by the introspective pop of Bon Iver and James Blake, as well as the likes of Common, Timbaland, and the Neptunes, he began posting his own music online that helped build a loyal following, and eventually nabbed a residency DJ’ing at London’s Chibuku Club. Over the last year, Lewis performed at Coachella, North Coast Music Festival and Jay-Z’s Made In America.

B-Sides met up with Lewis before his performance at SnowGlobe 2019 to talk about the influence of disco in his upcoming new material, singing Elton John songs and more. Check out the interview:
