VIDEO: INTERVIEW – DLMT Talks EP ‘Restart’, “It’s About Finding Ourselves Again”

Electronic producer DLMT has been making quite an impression on the house music scene over the past few years and just released his collaboration with Afrojack, “Wish You Were Here” (feat. Brandyn Burnette). His debut EP, ‘Restart’ last month via Dim Mak and features “Love The Way You Move (feat. Sara Diamond),” “Elevate” and “Freak”. Of the album title, DLMT stated, “2020 has been a very weird year for all of us, a year of difficulty and many changes. It was hard to find inspiration for new music in the midst of chaos, but one thing that stuck out was the word ‘restart.’ It inspired me to branch out with different styles of production, leading to my debut EP.” DLMT (born Daniel Balamut) got into music when he was younger, gravitating towards the drums and playing in a metal band that would eventually lead into drum-n-bass heavy sounds. Of his journey into making music as a profession, DLMT said, “I was working in engineering before I started all this, which is a completely different switch. It was kind of my hobby on the side and people ended up loving the music I was making.” With more music in the works and preparation for performing live again, DLMT is slated to perform a drive-in show in Montreal with DVBBS on October 10th.
