With so much new music coming out every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to first. Every week, we highlight some of our favorite tracks to kick off your weekend. The best way to keep up with our selections is by following our ‘New Music On-Repeat’ playlist on Spotify. This week’s picks include tracks from Zoe Wees, Danny Brown, King Princess, and more!

    1. Chloe George – “Peachi”

You may have heard Chloe George’s name before from her viral cover of Kanye West’s “Ghost Town”, which became a massively popular sound on TikTok this summer. But Chloe George is also a gifted songwriter in her own right. She just signed to FADER, but has worked behind the scenes with artists like Normani and Dua Lipa during her career. This new single “Peachi” shows the command George has over a great hook, delivering crystal clear ear-worm melodicism in this sunny indie pop track.

Zoe Wees is an artist you won’t want to miss. The breakout star’s debut EP Golden Wings floored us with her rich voice and cinematic songwriting. You can imagine how excited we were when we found out she was collaborating with Grammy nominated R&B maestro 6LACK on this track. This collaboration proves to be very fruitful, with an epic scale and the combined smoothness of these two’s voices working together.

          1. Hyd – “Skin 2 Skin”

Hyd’s new single “Skin 2 Skin” opens with a percussive whisper that feels so close that Hyd could be whispering right into your ear. Suddenly, the doors swing open and Hyd increases the scale, giving this track an incredible dynamic movement. The experimental track was cowritten and produced by Caroline Polacheck, and her precise production gives Hyd’s fascinating work really shine.

                    1. Joesef – “Fire”

Fast-rising songwriter Joesef is back with this smooth new single “Fire” which captures what makes him such an exciting new voice. “This song stemmed from something I’d written about wanting to burn all my stuff and move away,” says Joesef. The escapist fantasy in the lyrics is echoed by the warm production and makes for a song that is both melancholic and irresistibly groovy.

                      1. Mont Duamel – “Find Myself”
Mont Duamel - Find Myself

Grammy-nominated producer Mont Duamel just dropped is boundary-pushing EP “Eyes On You”, and this song “Find Myself” is one of our favorites on the project. Duamel blends acoustic and electric sounds seamlessly here, like some of the best work from Bon Iver or Radiohead. There’s a rich palate of instrumentation, and a groove that is simply delightful.
