PHOTO REVIEW: d4vd Kicks Off ‘Withered’ Tour in San Francisco, CA 07/30/2025

d4vd released his debut album ‘Withered’ back in April to much anticipation and acclaim and Wednesday night, kicked off his tour in support of the album in San Francisco, CA. His fans showed up early and were greeted by a coffin, flowers and a “funeral guest book”, a nod to the theme of the album which d4vd describes as a “goodbye letter to himself”, in reference to the style of music he’s made, thus far. The album is brimming with heartbreak and loss through ballads and upbeat songs, which were masterfully balanced in the setlist.

As soon as the lights went dim and d4vd emerged from the stage, the audience shrieked in excitement as he launched in to “Sky” and “Somewhere in the Middle” amidst a stage full of lights and decorative plants. Dancing and jumping during the early going, d4vd was seen just as hyped as the crowd, smiling at the upper level full of fans dancing in unison with him. His breakthrough song, “Here With Me” came in the early part of the set and not only had the venue full of phones in the air but singing and swaying that brought tears to many a fan. Bringing out opener Bryant Barnes surprised many as the duo performed their collaboration, “I’d Rather Pretend”. “Feel It” sounded full and crisp as d4vd’s vocals were on-point while the energy of the crowd kicked up another notch as they danced, jumped and sang along. The highly anticipated “Romantic Homocide” had fans fill the venue with their phone lights as they sang along. Bringing things to a close, d4vd sat quietly at the piano to perform “House Is Not A Home”, giving fans one last moment to chill and soak in the moment. With only an album and handful of EPs under his belt, d4vd constructed a well-balanced setlist that allowed him to keep the energy levels up at the right moments while the ballads allowed for his vocal abilities to shine, showcasing him as a dynamic performer who will only continue to grow.
