VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Hannah Bahng Talks Self-Discovery on ‘The Misunderstood’ EP, Reflects on Vulnerability and Growth

Rising artist Hannah Bahng dropped her sophomore release, The Misunderstood EP to much anticipationout now via her independent label Bahng Entertainment. The project delves deep into themes of identity, vulnerability, and self-perception, building on the confessional intimacy of her debut The Abysmal EP. With standouts like the angsty title track, “MISUNDERSTOOD” and the guitar-driven “What Never Lived”, the project was written across continents and recorded primarily in Los Angeles and is sonically broad ranging, while lyrically sharing Bahng’s vulnerable side as she navigates her early twenties. “You can’t find a sort of understanding through other people. I feel like you need to find that within yourself,” Bahng shared, “I feel like it’s very important to be able to love yourself and understand yourself rather than trying to seek that through any outside opinions or people.”

Hannah Bahng spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about her personal evolution behind ‘The Misunderstood’, her growing fanbase, lesson learned while touring, her first Coachella and more.
