Fresh off of releasing their latest single “Freaks”, Haute & Freddy continue to grow their audience with key festival appearances at Portola Music Festival in San Francisco and Austin City Limits. Comprised of Michelle Buzz (Haute) and Lance Shipp (Freddy), Haute & Freddy have channeled their affinity for New Wave electroclash, theatrical flair, and 18th-century-inspired aesthetics to create their fun brand of alt-pop.
After years of songwriting for other artists including Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, the duo combined forces and made their debut in 2024 with “Scantily Clad”. Their live performances have already garnered attention, as their circus-like performances have inspired fans known as “The Royal Court”, to dress up in jester hats and colorful outfits inspired by a different era. Haute stated, “your outfit makes you feel empowered and makes you feel like ‘I don’t care today and I can be my freaky self'” Freddy added, “I put this hat on and I’m like so empowered.” The pair have a few more headlining shows for the rest of the year and an appearance at Corona Capital in November.
Haute & Freddy spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar at Portola Music Festival 2025 to talk about performing at the festival, how their sound is informed by their stage fits, upcoming new music and more.
