Pinkpop 2013 Lineup Boasts Green Day, Killers, Kings Of Leon

Before Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and popular festivals today, there was Pinkpop. The annual festival started a year after Woodstock and is the longest running event of its kind. Starting in 1970 with a small lineup and has since grown into a three-day event, hosting approximately 60,000 people a day and legendary performances from big names that have included: Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, Van Halen, U2, The Cure, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead, Muse, Linkin Park, Metallica, and Coldplay amongst hundreds of others.

This year’s event will take place Jun 14–16, 2013, at the former horse racing track, Megaland, in the city of Landgraaf located in the southeast corner of The Netherlands. The 2013 edition of the Pinkpop lineup boasts strong talent that will no doubt satisfy even the most particular music fan with its variety of acts. Headliners for the three-day festival, Green Day, The Killers and Kings of Leon lead the pack along with Phoenix, alt-J, fun., Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, 30 Seconds to Mars, Queens of the Stone Age, Ellie Goulding, The Gaslight Anthem, The Vaccines and Ben Howard. The batch of newer and up-and-coming artists includes Bastille (who was just added to replace Grouplove), Tom Odell, C2C, Kodaline and Palma Violets is surrounded by festival stalwarts, Die Antwoord, Sterophonics and native Dutch artists Handomse Poets, Kensington, Christopher Green and Blaudzun.

Last year’s collaboration of Bruce Springsteen with Mumford & Sons performing “Hungry Heart” caught the fans by surprise and with this year’s stellar lineup, who knows what may happen this year.
