VIDEO: INTERVIEW – White Reaper Talk Touring, Gaining New Fans

White Reaper have been on a roll since the release of 2017’s The World’s Best American Band. The Louisville band performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and just completed a support tour with Spoon. With their second studio full-length, the bold statement of the title is also the band’s credo. “Because we are the best,” says guitarist/vocalist Tony Esposito. “Just like Muhammad Ali was the greatest, you gotta say it out loud for people to believe it.” The band had worked on the material with producer Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Young Widows) and set out to make “a good ol’ fashioned in-your- face rock ’n’ roll record.” “We didn’t make this record or start this band because we wanted to come across in a single, certain way,” says Esposito. “We just make records that we’d want to hear. We started doing this because it’s fun as hell, just as much now as it was when we were 14.”

B-Sides met up with White Reaper during their San Francisco tour date with Spoon to talk about the highlights from the past year, the exposure from touring with a band like Spoon and more.
