PHOTO REVIEW: Stagecoach 2024 Melds Genres, Brings Largest Audience Yet

Stagecoach 2024 was representative of the continued evolution of country music and its appeal. Of course with artists like Beyoncé, Post Malone, Lana Del Rey and others recording and/or performing country music, the genre’s push into the mainstream was seen throughout the three-day annual festival in Indio, CA.

The aforementioned Post Malone was more than adept at performing the country covers. The well-known rapper/singer had a raucous crowd on Saturday night as he and his band tore through covers from country greats George Strait(“Check Yes or No”), Randy Travis(“Three Wooden Crosses”) and “Chattahoochee”(Alan Jackson), the latter performed with Brad Paisley. Although there were many fans hoping to see Beyoncé perform with Post Malone, it was not to be and Lana Del Rey who was seen throughout the festival. Del Rey performed with Paul Cauthen during his set to duet on “Unchained Melody”.

Rising artist, Dasha, made a couple of appearances throughout the weekend to perform her viral and chart-climbing hit “Austin”. The San Luis Obispo native joined Dillon Francis on Friday and then again on Saturday to sing and dance with Brandi Cyrus. T-Pain joined Jelly Roll to perform Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”. Meanwhile, The Beach Boys were joined by John Stamos and Mark McGrath throughout their set before Lana Del Rey showed up to dance on stage. Stamos sang on the band’s poignant song “Forever”, dedicating it to Bob Saget as old video clips of Stamos and Saget played that included their ‘Full House’ co-stars Candace Cameron, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Other notable performances showcased strong songwriters including emerging artist Sam Barber, whose set was filled with passion that had the crowd singing along and many waving their hat in approval after many a song. Due to travel issues with her band, Abby Anderson gave a unique and memorable solo performance that saw her alternate between keyboard and guitar.
