VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Tenille Townes at Stagecoach 2024

Tenille Townes made her Stagecoach debut this year and brought forth an exciting and inspirational set. With a catalog of songs led by “Somebody’s Daughter”, “Jersey on the Wall” and others, there was much to look forward to seeing Townes perform. The audience was enthusiastic and seen swaying and singing along as Townes performed newer releases like “Thing That Brought Me Here” and “As You Are”. The latter, a notable sonic shift for Townes, that is more indie-rock influenced, a direction that Townes has stated she will explore further in upcoming releases. “I’ve listened to all kinds of different music in my whole life and I really enjoyed getting to work on this music because I got to go to Seattle and work with this amazing group of musicians and a producer out at Bear Creek Studio,s Ryan Hadlock,” Townes shared, “it was really cool to creatively have a change of scenery and I feel like some of these songs are built the same way the way. I pick up my acoustic guitar and play them. The bones of the song are the same but I really felt like he found a way to put a leather jacket on some of these and it feels very true to the artistic expression that I’m making right now in this season of my life.” Townes continues her US tour throughout the rest of May and plans to return to the studio to work on her next project.

Tenille Townes spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about performing at Stagecoach 2024, the change in sound for her new music and more.
