5 Seconds of Summer brought their Everyone’s a Star! World Tour to North America, with Boston marking the fifth stop on the run this past Friday June 5th.
Fans arrived fully committed to the concept, filling the arena with sparkles, star-themed outfits, handmade tops, glittery accessories, and bedazzled details from head to toe. It was clear the crowd was ready to see the band they first fell in love with over a decade ago.
The night opened with a cinematic intro featuring the four members inside a limousine before cutting to their arrival on stage, who immediately launched into new tracks “NOT OK” and “No.1 Obsession” from their latest album Everyone’s a Star!. Confetti erupted overhead, setting the tone for a visually packed and high-energy performance.
Between songs, the band leaned into humor and self-awareness, joking about boy band awards, industry narratives, and even past breakup rumors. As the set progressed, they mixed newer material with fan favorites, eventually teasing a classic before breaking into “She’s Kinda Hot,” sending the crowd into a surge of nostalgia.
The energy peaked as they moved onto the extended catwalk reaching deep into the floor section. Tracks like “Telephone” and “Evolve” (as performed in the set) turned the venue into a full-scale dance floor, with fans jumping in sync as the band moved closer to the audience. Each member—Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin—fed off the crowd’s energy throughout the night.
As the show moved toward its finale, security cleared space along the pit as the band prepared to move through the crowd. With Boston Celtics mascot Lucky the Leprechaun and Boston Bruins mascot Blades the Bruin in attendance, the moment took on an added local flair as the band made their way through the audience during “Everyone’s a Star.”
The night closed with “Youngblood,” leaving the crowd dancing as the band delivered a tightly produced, emotionally charged, and visually explosive show to Boston.
