Wet Leg are making their triumphant return to the States with their current tour in support of their sophomore album, ‘moisturizer’. Performing the first of two sold-out nights in Oakland, CA, the British outfit brought the energy and excitement to the Fox Theater that was packed to the gills early on.
Right from the start, lead singer Rhian Teasdale was interactive and spirited as the band opened with their recent single, “catch these fists”, followed by the familiar “Wet Dream” from their self-titled debut album. While Teasdale was crawling on the stage at times and striking a pose, the audience was dancing and jumping along as the band played fan favorites “jennifer’s body”, “Being in Love” and “Ur Mum”. The audience got really loud during the latter as Teasdale invited the crowd to scream long and loud. The energy continued throughout the show as the band laid into their breakthrough song “Chaise Longue” where the audience jumped, danced and screamed back the lyrics with Teasdale. While the night capped off with “CPR” from the new album, the screams and vibes remained high and gave fans more of an appreciation for the new album.
