PHOTO REVIEW: Austin City Limits 2025: Sun, Sound, and Surprise Guests Light Up Zilker Park

Austin City Limits Music Festival Weekend 1 2025 brought the heat — both literally and figuratively.

Cowboy boots, lace and sparkles poured into Zilker Park in Austin, TX and lit up for a high-energy, sun-drenched weekend. The vibes were strong, the crowds were ready, and the lineup did not disappoint over the course of this past weekend.

In a move that felt straight out of a millennial daydream, Hilary Duff (yes, Lizzie McGuire herself) made a surprise appearance during Role Model’s set. The nostalgic cameo sent the crowd into a frenzy — a playful, unexpected highlight that rounded out an already star-studded day one.

Sabrina Carpenter delivered a standout performance, mixing crowd favorites from Short n’ Sweet with new tracks from her recent release Man’s Bestfriend. She danced, joked with the crowd, and gave us the sensual charged ballads she’s known for. But the real showstopper came when she brought out Shania Twain for a surprise duet of That Don’t Impress Me Much— an unforgettable cross-generational moment that instantly became one of ACL’s most iconic performances.

And for those torn between a classic rock anthem or an EDM-fueled dance party — ACL delivered both. The Killers closed out the Amex stage Sunday night in iconic form, with a packed park shouting every lyric to Mr. Brightside, while over at the T-Mobile stage, John Summit kept the energy sky-high with a set full of pulsing remixes and late-night euphoria. A finale that hit all the right notes.

Beyond the big names, we caught standout sets from rising artists including Chezile, Moody Judy, LVVRS, Sydney Rose, and Mallrat — each bringing fresh energy and distinct style to the festival’s diverse stages.

ACL Weekend 1 was a sun-soaked, music-filled celebration, unforgettable from start to finish. Until next year, Austin.
