The Weeknd brought his After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, for the first of two electrifying nights — joined by special guests Playboi Carti and Mike Dean.
Kicking off the evening, legendary producer Mike Dean delivered a moody, atmospheric DJ set that set the tone perfectly. His ambient, synth-heavy soundscapes matched the setting sun, slowly building anticipation as the stadium filled.
Next up, Playboi Carti stormed the stage with undeniable intensity, though his set was cut short due to a delayed start. Still, Carti made every second count. He opened with “EVIL JORDAN” and shocked fans by playing “FE!N” as his second track — a moment many expected to come later in his set. As he marched down the catwalk surrounded by flames and booming bass, the energy surged. The crowd erupted into a frenzy, and the stands were literally shaking from all the jumping. It was chaos, in the best way possible.
The Weeknd took the stage with a cinematic entrance, opening with “The Abyss”. Dancers cloaked in long red robes, their faces hidden behind futuristic masks, moved like shadows across the sprawling stage — which stretched nearly halfway across the stadium floor. The Weeknd himself wore a glowing mask with illuminated eyes, radiating a mysterious and captivating presence.
The first three songs spotlighted the raw power of his vocals, echoing across the stadium and captivating the crowd. And then — the beat dropped. As soon as the opening notes of “Starboy” hit, fans exploded with excitement. The stadium turned into a galaxy of lights and screams. The setlist featured an impressive 41 songs, spanning every album since 2012. From hard-hitting anthems like “The Hills”, “Blinding Lights”, and “Die for You,” The Weeknd delivered a relentless and immersive performance that never lost momentum.
Night one was an unforgettable experience — and Foxborough gets to do it all again for Night Two.
