VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Divorce Grateful For Recognition From Sam Smith, Mumford & Sons, Talk Debut LP

Indie outfit Divorce continues to carve out their distinctive sonic niche with the debut album, “Drive To Goldenhammer.” The band has made an immediate impression with their introspective lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes. In a wide-ranging interview, the band delved into the creative genesis and profound vision behind their debut, which has helped them garner attention from a growing fanbase that includes notable names in music.

“For ‘Drive To Goldenhammer,’ I wanted to explore the journey of finding solace in motion, that feeling of endless highways mirroring internal shifts.”

“Drive To Goldenhammer” sees Divorce pushing their boundaries, crafting a narrative arc that explores themes of self-discovery, longing, and the inherent beauty found in transient states. The project’s title itself evokes a sense of purposeful travel, a pilgrimage towards an unknown yet significant destination. Sonically, there were inspirations included in the work like field recordings from desolate stretches of highway and the rhythmic pulse of industrial machinery woven into the tracks that create an immersive auditory experience.

Divorce spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about their growing profile including opening for Sam Smith in San Francisco, collaborating with Mumford & Sons and recognition. Tiger and Felix from the band talk about their growth as a duo and into a four-piece, making their debut LP and more.
