spill tab returned to Austin City Limits and put on a fun and engaging set under the hot Texas sun. Featuring songs from her recently released debut album, ‘Angie’, spill tab performed standouts like “Hold Me”, “De Guerre” and “Assis” that had the crowd vibing and dancing along.
Born in Thailand spill tab, born Claire Chicha, grew up primarily in Los Angeles before moving to Thailand and Paris for a period of time and returned to LA. These experiences helped inform her music as heard in some of her early works and especially on one of her more successful songs, “Cotton Candy” that was released in 2020. spill tab signed to a major label early in her career and released a handful of EPs but with the label’s desire for more strategic mainstream commercial music conflicting with her vision, she moved on to sign with the French label Because Music. It was with his newfound freedom that spill tab explored different sounds and eventually created ‘Angie’ to reflect on some of those previous constraints. spill tab stated, “it became this beautiful experience of only following ideas that I really believed in and exploring all the musical avenues I hadn’t before. I’ve never been more excited about the songs on ANGIE, and I’ve never felt like a project is more mine.”
spill tab spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about performing at Austin City Limits 2025, her debut album ‘Angie’ and more.
