New Orleans band, Royal Teeth formed in 2011 and was quickly discovered by the founder of Dangerbird Records on Halloween of the same year. The band played the CMJ Festival, shared the bill with Mute Math and played SXSW 2012. Their pop-laden sound is enhanced by lavish, synth-infused soundscapes and tight interplay between the two vocalists, Gary Larson and Nora Patterson. Their debut EP, Act Naturally, features the addictive track, “Wild”, which was recently used in a Canadian Buick commercial in addition to Fox featuring the song in its winter promotion. The collection also features the band’s rendition of “Heartbeats” by The Knife. We predict some good things happening very quickly for the Southern-based band and hope to get them into the B-Sides studios soon!
