Outside Lands 2023 Lineup Announced!

The 2023 Outside Lands lineup has been announced! The festival returns to celebrate 15 years of world-class music, food, art and cannabis in Golden Gate Park on August 11 – 13 and features headliners Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Odesza and many other major standouts like Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe and Maggie Rogers. The SOMA Tent will return to Outside Lands for its third year and features over 9 hours of music each day featuring the best in dance music. This year’s talent includes: BLOND:ISH, Claptone, WhoMadeWho, Tinlicker, Âme b2b Trikk, Sama’ Abdulhadi and others. There are many buzzworthy and emerging acts that will perform throughout the weekend which are listed below and recommended to see throughout the weekend.

 

Ethel Cain

Southern singer-songwriter Hayden Anhedönia, professionally under the alias, Ethel Cain, caught everyone’s attention with the release of her debut album Preacher’s Daughter last May. Hit single ‘American Teenager’ took social media by storm with fans waiting for more from the Southern singer. Since the release, she’s briefly toured and recently performed at Coachella weekend one. Her raw, raspy voice paired with heart wrenching lyrics on family and gender embrace gospel, dream-pop, and rock influences.

beabadoobee

Beatrice Laus, under the name beabadoobee, is a Filipin-British indie-pop musician known for her bubbly music that resonates with young adults. Her fifth album, Beatopia, under DirtyHit, is full of inspiration from her childhood and whimsical dreams. Currently, she is supporting Taylor Swift on ‘The Eras Tour’ until the end of the month.

 

Holly Humberstone

English singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone is last year’s winner of the Brit Award of Rising Star. She makes sleek, emotional music with such authenticity that it’s no wonder she’s a rising star. Her debut album, Can You Afford To Lose Me?, is vulnerable, unique, and tender accompanied by soulful melodies.

NIKI

Nicole Zefanya, NIKI, is an Indonesian songwriter and music producer known for her introspective indie tracks with synth R&B elements. On August 12, 2022, NIKI released her second album, Nicole, under 88rising Records. Unlike her previous album, Nicole is a soothing yet nostalgic glimpse into NIKI’s early music career and high school days. The album’s vivid detail perfectly suits her dreamy voice and folk-pop roots.

WhoMadeWho

Copenhagen-based experimental trio, WhoMadeWho, consists of Tomas Høffding (vocals, bassist), Jeppe Kjellberg (jazz guitarist), and Tomas Barfod (drums). In September, the trio released UUUU, an album inspired by 80s post-disco and electronica from the 90s and early 00s. Their songs are captivating, creatively electronic, and range from stripped instrumentals to organic soundscapes that mesmerize crowds. Since their inception in 2003, WhoMadeWho solidified their space in the electro-pop world with this 63 minute long record.
