One of the most exciting live bands out right now has been Die Spitz, out of Austin, TX. Their performances have been known to be raucous, frenzied and electrifying, which elevates their brand of punk rock. The four-piece consisting of Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter formed in 2022 by longtime friends Schrobilgen and Livingston, who met as four-year-olds at ballet class. Their influences of hard-rock and metal that came from their parents would eventually inspire them to start a band and culminate in a string of singles and their self-released EP ‘Teeth’ in 2023. Having recently signed with Third Man Records, their debut album is set to be released sometime this fall to much anticipation.
Die Spitz performed during the opening (and only) day of this year’s Bonnaroo and spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about performing at the festival, their growing profile, their interactions with Disney stars, upcoming new music and more.
