Rising electronic DJ/producer Lumia is known for her evocative soundscapes that sets the mood for the afterparty. The vibes she’s bringing to her performances led her to a spot at the DoLab at Coachella and a springboard for a higher profile.
“I was in a flow state, and it was really easy, everything just went really smoothly.”
New York City-based artist and DJ Lumia Nocito released her EP ‘Kite’ last year to much anticipation. The project, filled with bass-heavy dance tunes, is designed to transport listeners straight to the city’s dance floors. With a background in fine art, photography, and sculpture — including early work with Petra Collins — Nocito approaches music with the same fearless creativity and curiosity that defines her multi-disciplinary career. Her sound blends nostalgic influences with contagious, body-moving energy. The sounds she’s created led to a spot at the DoLab stage at Coachella and is sure to provide more opportunities for bigger stages in the future.
Lumia spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about performing at the DoLab at Coachella 2026, how she’s taken her passion for visuals into music and more.
