Maggie Lindemann just released her second full-length album, ‘i feel everything’ last Friday to much anticipation. The project is a quick turnaround from last year’s EP release, ‘Headsplit’ and captures the emotions and feelings from the demise of a long-term relationship, self-analysis and survival.
Lindemann leaned into darker alt-pop sonics for many of the songs on the album, as heard in “spine” and “split” while shades of hyperpop and electronic sounds are heard in “fang”, “heart drop” and “one of the ones”. Lindemann pushed herself to explore the new sounds, sharing “I just wanted to see what I could do, test my abilities and see if I could do more pop leaning. I wanted it to feel very emotional.” She continued, “I wanted you to be able to literally feel everything. I wanted you to listen to it and feel the emotion in it. And I feel like I wanted some things to feel almost eerie. Like with “heart drop”, I wanted it to have that very desolate, lonesome feeling of that feeling you feel when you’re missing someone, and I wanted it to come across in the production.
Collaborations are sprinkled through the album as she teamed up with The Warning, Lindemann is in her familiar rock roots in “let me burn”, while in “2022”, she stretches into alt-pop with Julia Wolf featured on vocals and the dark alt-pop vibes are prominently featured in “it’s still you” with Max Fry.
Lindemann will support the new material with a new vision and approach to her live shows that are slated to kick off in February and run through the spring of 2026.
Maggie Lindemann spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about her new album ‘i feel everything’ , how she channeled the breakup of a personal relationship into the new music, expanding into the darker alternative sonics, her plans to move to London and more.
