Nashville-based indie-rock outfit Edgehill are navigating a rare milestone in today’s rapid-fire music landscape: steady, organic growth. Following the alternative radio success of their breakout single “Doubletake,” which has climbed its way firmly into the Top 5 on the charts, the band is finding validation in the most traditional methods via a full-length album, ‘Ode to the Greyhouse’ and performing live.
“Bands are so fun. And also it’s just we get to have—it’s almost like you get like a different hemisphere of your brain into one brain.”
Written and arranged over a 6-month period of near self-isolation, Edgehill’s debut LP ‘Ode to the Greyhouse’ has garnered strong critical acclaim and has given the band a growing profile while their fanbase continues to grow. “We’ve always wanted to make a longer-form project, but making a record is hard. Finding the time, committing fully, doubting everything one moment, then being blinded by the light at the end of the tunnel the next. In a strange, meta way, ‘Ode to the Greyhouse’ unintentionally became a reflection of its own impact on our lives,” shared Edgehill. Recorded at the historic Pachyderm Studios—the legendary birthplace of Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’, the nine-track project chronicles the dynamics of the emotional rollercoaster in a relationship while navigating life’s challenges.
Edgehill Frontman Chris Kelly spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about the band’s success with the song “Doubletake”, their debut album ‘Ode to the Greenhouse’, the band’s formation, personalities and more.
